Versatile and timeless, Neptune's new-season shade, Potters Pink, is a restful homage to the pigments of potters' clay and setting plaster.
Soothing and elegant in contemporary and period settings alike, its subtle, earthy tones work in almost every room, from hallways to bedrooms, sitting rooms to kitchens.
It's a natural bedfellow to timber, from old pine to rich mahogany and walnut, and manages to feel both cocooning and fresh in equal measure. And it works perfectly with natural fabrics and hides, from linens to sheepskin.
Potters Pink is beautifully at home with Neptune's neutrals – soothing Salt, the subtle grey of Silver Birch and the putty tones of Driftwood. Use it on walls as a warmer backdrop to paler furniture or apply it to marble-topped cabinetry for a fresh, modern kitchen or bathroom scheme.
Try it in a sitting room or study paired with the subtle greenish tones of French Gray – there's a distinctly vintage, Parisian feel about this combination.
Pretty on wood panelling, it's lovely in a sitting room with textured linen sofas like the Eva or George, woollen throws and sheepskins – our Neptune showroom is the perfect example. And it's a showstopper in a period hallway. Think grand period houses and those breathtaking Robert Adam hallways at National Trust properties, with soaring alabaster columns and tiled floors.
While the rich, verdant tones of Olive and historic Constable Green may not be the first pairing you consider, their complementary pigments work surprisingly well together.
Paired with the soft khaki of Lead Light, Potters Pink's warmth is toned down by green-brown hues. Or try it with Sage – the palest of soft greens – in a bedroom to create a scheme that is both restful and calming.
It's hard not to love the classic combination of pink and navy. Elegant in a bathroom or kitchen, large or small, Ink cabinetry, pale worktops, brass fittings and Potters Pink walls feel elegant and grown-up, giving a pleasing sense of space to even the most compact galley.
Working from home? Potters Pink is refined and calming in a home office, and the perfect foil for a wooden or glass-toped desk, like this Hebden, wicker baskets and dark blue woodwork.
A predominantly Potters Pink scheme is grounded with accents of terracotta or even Rhubarb – Neptune's joyous spring/summer shade. Used sparingly, they make a space feel finished. These complementary shades work particularly well in a bedroom, or try pairing Potters Pink with subtle pops of apricot for a welcoming, contemporary dining room.
