Your home is where our heart is
For 35 years, our interior design team has been transforming clients' homes, creating beautiful, practical spaces to inspire and delight. From tiny apartments to grand country houses, our designers work across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire – and much further afield – on projects large and small.
Our interior design service is FREE. Visit our showrooms, pick out some favourite pieces and book a design consultation with our expert team. They'll take the time to understand your style, your home and your lifestyle, and will create mood boards, helping you choose furniture, fabrics, flooring and finishes to create rooms you'll love.
Our designers work with domestic and corporate clients, and they have a wealth of experience in both sectors. Among the team, we have our our own Neptune design specialist and a curtains and blinds specialist, who works hand-in-hand with our team of expert seamstresses to create beautiful, bespoke window treatments for every room in your home. Whatever your style, we'll work with you to create a home that evolves with you and your family, designing spaces you'll love for years to come.
The Woodhouse
The Holloways design team was commissioned to design the interior for The Woodhouse, the show home for oak frame building specialists Oakwrights. Nestled in the rolling Herefordshire countryside and flooded with natural light, Annie Blackledge and her team created a stunning contemporary country living scheme in every room, from the farmhouse kitchen to the living spaces, bathrooms to the bedrooms.
"The showhome was always going to be beautiful," said Oakwrights' founder Tim Crump. "But I wanted to match its structural elegance with a show stopping interior. I knew exactly who to ask to facilitate that transformation – a local company committed to our values of quality, integrity, sustainability and community. It had to be Holloways."
In the open-plan sitting room, Annie and her team created a seamless transition between this and the rest of the generous living spaces. Canterbury sofas and a Canterbury loveseat in Ember Oyster complemented a custom-painted Chichester coffee table and Chichester side table from Neptune by Holloways. A Balmoral wing chair, upholstered in Clarke & Clarke's Hatfield Chambray fabric, sits at the bottom of the floating staircase and conveys contemporary country style at its best.
Flowing through to the dining space, a green wall with a custom-painted oak-topped dresser brings the outdoors in through huge French doors flanked by custom-made curtains in a sage green Ian Mankin Embroidered Union Fern fabric. An Ian Mankin runner in Vintage Stripe Slate teams with scatter cushions in the same stripe, while a pair of Neptune pendant lights, again from Neptune by Holloways, illuminates this family space as the heart of the home.
In the kitchen, Roman blinds in a smart ticking stripe – Hopsack Stripe Sage by Ian Mankin – picking up the verdant green of the walls, are as beautiful as they are practical. A solid oak dining table, taking its nod from the wealth of oak beams, takes pride of place. Similar pendants, like the one above the island, are available from Neptune by Holloways.
In the master bedroom, with breathtaking views across the valley, Annie suggested a feature wall in Neptune's rich Blakeney Blue emulsion, colour-matching the accent colour with soft furnishings and the upholstery on the Trafalgar armchairs – the elephant fabric is now sadly discontinued, but a similar fabric is available from Iliv. Above the bed, the Buckingham round mirror in a soft off-white adds a fresh contrast to the oak-framed windows and oak floor, while the striking Juno recycled rug treads as softly on the planet as it feels under foot.
Outside, an outdoor casual dining set – the Sicilian, now discontinued – nestles by the pond and numerous water features. Similar garden furniture corner sets include the Fairford, the Monterey, complete with fire pit, and Chedworth.
Oakwrights is based at Swainshill, Herefordshire. From oak-framed homes to building plots, smart extensions to outbuildings, the company creates bespoke builds for clients across the country.
