Hottest Garden Trends for 2025

The Garden

This year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens were full of forward-thinking ideas, ingenious solutions to climate change and innovative ways to ensure the long-term success of our gardening efforts. From creating mini wetlands to planting in sand, creating bee and bird habitats to soil-saving boardwalks and rain harvesting systems, gardens large and small were the stuff of planet-friendly dreams.

If sustainability and future-proofing must now be at the heart of the hard landscaping and planting in our gardens, then outdoor furniture must surely follow suit. We've been supplying exceptional garden furniture to discerning customers across the UK for more than 30 years. And while our collections are intentionally timeless – each piece crafted to last and designed to look good for years – each season brings a fresh new approach to furniture design.

This year, our garden furniture collections major on sustainable design, soft pebble colourways, organic rope detailing and shade and shelter with our NEW pergolas.

1. Sustainability

Natural swimming pools, repurposed materials, wildflower meadows and water-collecting systems continue to be hot topics in the world of garden design. We only work with garden furniture makers whose values chime with ours – exacting quality, traditional craftsmanship and materials which don't cost the earth.

Louvre teak dining table

Our teak dining tables are made from FSC-sourced wood. Outdoor wicker furniture is hand-woven on to powder-coated aluminium frames for exceptional quality and longevity. And season-proof cushions are made from recycled plastics.

We have our own in-house delivery team who will deliver your furniture swiftly and safely to your door. When we arrive, we'll assemble it for you and take away all the packing for recycling.

2. Natural colourways

Grey, which has dominated garden furniture design for the past few years, is gradually sharing the space with more earthy tones of pebble and sandstone. While deep charcoals and silver-greys are still the smart choice for contemporary gardens, more natural colourways are joining them. Calming and grounding, these shades of taupe, buff and even walnut are naturally reminiscent of the changing landscape around us.

We love: The new Monterey Vogue collection – contemporary garden dining tables with parasols and compact garden sofas in smart sandstone outdoor wicker. Topped with season-proof cushions, the chairs are comfortable and inviting.

3. Shade and shelter

As climate change continues to be at the forefront of our minds, creating shade and shelter from the increasingly unpredictable weather is front and centre of garden designers' plans.

Our new pergolas do just that. An extension of your home, customise yours with a bespoke combination of weather-resistant louvres and blinds and you'll have a space in your garden you can enjoy come rain or shine. Great over your garden furniture or a hot tub, you won't need planning permission and they're easy to install. Our pergolas come in two finishes and three sizes with a clever roof that conceals an ingenious guttering system to take water away from your entertaining space.

We have plenty of parasols too, many with wheeled bases and some with LED lighting. A must in bright sunlight, they're a useful addition when the heavens open and can be tucked away when not in use.

We love: The new 6mx3m Sorrento Grey pergola has a combination of screens and louvres and plenty of room for a dining table and seating area.

4. Sociable spaces

If the pandemic taught us anything, it was to appreciate home. This year, the love affair with informal entertaining in our gardens is stronger than ever. And if your great outdoors isn't quite big enough for separate garden dining and seating areas, multi-purpose outdoor furniture is the solution.

There are lots of examples of casual garden dining sets online and in our showrooms, from the beautifully textured Andaman, with an adjustable-height table and outdoor dining benches, to the sleek, contemporary Rivieraavailable in Barista Taupe and Carbon, pictured below.

We love: The Fairford casual dining set, below. A generous 10-seater modular sofa, dining bench and armchair meet an adjustable piston table which goes up for dinner and down for drinks at the touch of a lever.

5. Rope detailing

Whether it's the distinctly nautical feel or the organic form, rope furniture is enjoying a resurgence. We love our Santander corner sofa – generously curved, with season-proof cushions made from recycled plastics and a sustainably sourced teak coffee table, it's the perfect piece for the modern garden.

6. Heirloom styling

Nothing says classic English garden like the timeless Kerula or Rosemoor collections. Outdoor wicker, made to look like natural wicker, wound around beautifully curved frames with deep skirts is distinctly Edwardian in style.

The Rosemoor is designed in conjunction with the RHS, and named after the world-famous garden. Season-proof cushions are made from recycled plastics and the frames will happily sit out all year.

We love: The Rosemoor casual dining set. Modern in concept, with plenty of room for all your favourite people, it's a design classic which works in contemporary and period spaces. There's a matching dining table, sofa set and bistro table.
