Spring has finally sprung and, with warmer days, lighter evenings and the prospect of the first barbecues on the (hopefully hazy) horizon, all thoughts are turning to the garden. As our kitchen garden bursts into life, clouds of blossom drift over the orchards at the farm and carpets of bluebells and wild garlic fill the woods with their heady scent, the Holloways showrooms are full of garden furniture.
Our furniture collections – indoor and out – are timeless: designed to look good in your home and garden for years to come, and to grow with you as your horizons expand. From timeless teak to stress-free ceramics, outdoor wicker woven like English willow to rope-backed designs, discover the perfect pairing for your great outdoors. This year’s collections quietly lean into the latest outdoor living trends – of sustainability, texture, bold design and earthy colours.
The boundaries between inside and out are becoming more fluid. Garden furniture is becoming more sophisticated and comfortable – tactile, season-proof fabrics which resemble indoor furniture.
The new Maine collection of sofas and dining tables (above and below) embodies this. Deep, comfortable cushions, contemporary frames crafted to look like limed wood and smart rope detailing combine to create a look that’s both elegant and refined.
Brittany, below, has the look of oak-framed furniture, but made from powder-coated aluminium with the same clean lines, contemporary silhouette and tongue and groove detailing on the oak-effect table.
Curved and sculptural furniture is a key trend this year. Rounded garden sofas, circular tables and cocooning, organic shapes are having their moment in the sun. Curves create calming, inviting spaces and subtly soften angular patios and the lines of lawns and borders.
We love the Chamonix (above) – season-proof cushions and nautical rope detailing are woven into a perfectly curved sofa which sweeps around a generous round dining table that’s just the right height for informal entertaining.
Curved dining tables include the Monterey (above), which comes in both round and elliptical designs, with parasols. The Venice collection (below) of four, six and eight-seater outdoor dining tables and bistro sets, which mimic classic Coalbrookdale designs, but are made from cast aluminium. The dining sets come with parasols and heavy granite bases.
Modular and adaptable seating is a key outdoor living trend this year, particularly for smaller gardens, courtyards or roof terraces which double up as entertaining and lounging spaces. Corner sofas that can be configured left or right-handed, recliners and loungers spell flexibility in a garden.
Again, the Brittany sofa can be configured left or right-handed, as can the Fairford (above), with its separate dining bench and generous armchair. The Riviera (below), in anthracite, can also be set up left or right-handed, as can the Como (bottom) with its organic curves, rope detailing and adjustable-height piston table.
Recliners, which are lightweight enough to be moved around the garden, include the RHS Rosemoor (below), developed in partnership with the RHS and woven from outdoor wicker to mimic deep-skirted, Edwardian English willow designs. They're delightfully dual purpose, thanks to the high coffee table – great for sitting, dining and lounging.
The elegant Compton sun lounger, by Neptune, (below) lies flat, for maximum versatility in the garden, and makes a great day bed for the garden room or conservatory too.
There is a strong shift this year towards sustainable and natural materials, including reclaimed teak, acacia wood and rattan. Neptune's Kew collection includes this two-seater teak-framed sofa, armchair and coffee table (below).

The Louvre (below) – a sociable round table, seating up to eight, with smart cruciform legs – and the similar Derby are made from FSC-certified teak. The Stanway teak outdoor dining table (below) makes a smart eight-seater paired with these Andaman dining chairs. Looking for a teak lounger? The Harmondsworth is a classic design that'll look good for years.
Given time, these teak tables will weather to a beautiful silvery grey and, with the right care, will last a lifetime. Read how to care for your teak garden furniture here.

Clay, charcoal and green are on-trend this year – a nod to the landscape around us. These hues feel grounded and calming, and reflect the shift towards natural and sustainable materials. Lift these neutrals with pops of vibrant colour – our showrooms are full of bright outdoor cushions and throws, plus bold, hand-painted tableware to make a statement at supper.
Neptune's Cheltenham collection (below) of outdoor dining tables, garden sofas and wheeled loungers is made from galvanised steel and granite. The outdoor carver chairs include a choice of cushion covers, including this bold, weather-resistant green stripe.
Textured detailing like rope are more prominent than ever this year. Maine, Como, Chamonix and Brittany all feature woven rope detailing, while the Kerula and RHS Rosemoor collections are crafted from outdoor wicker to look like English willow.
Multifunctional pieces, such as tables which can be adjusted from coffee table to dining height are trending to maximise space in smaller gardens. The RHS Rosemoor Mini Casual Dining Set (below) has all the style and charm of a modular sofa with an easy care, glass-topped dining table and stools – with a much-reduced footprint.
A bistro set can be a useful solution in a small space. Big enough for supper for two, they're great for drinks and casual breakfasts too. The Venice (below) comes in stone or this smart bronze colourway, crafted to withstand the thrills and spills of outdoor living, year-round.
A pergola is a smart addition to any garden – a clever, covered space to keep the party going, whatever the great British weather is doing. Ours come in three sizes and two finishes, with a bespoke combination of screens and louvres to perfectly suit your space and style. Choose from graphite, or oak effect. There's no planning permission required and we'll arrange professional installation for you.
