Traditionally made from the finest materials, a Holloways dining table is meticulously crafted for all life's moments. From big announcements to those quiet chats, gather your favourite people for a lifetime of family times.
The dining table, surely, is the beating heart of every celebration. From the little moments to jaw-dropping revelations, brilliant birthdays to the merriest of Christmases, children's homework and hard-fought board games and every grand occasion or relaxed supper in between, our dining tables will be there with you through it all.
Whether yours is a generous, open-plan family room, intimate dining room, homely farmhouse kitchen or a modern kitchen/diner, there's a Holloways dining table made just for you. Expertly designed, each one is crafted using traditional carpentry methods for strength and durability.
Every dining table we sell is designed to age beautifully with you and your family, retaining its handsome good looks while the patina deepens with each lunch, each supper, each dinner party. Around a Holloways table, all the best memories are made – for this generation, and the next.
Fixed or extending – our new breed of dining table extends with one hand, effortlessly, in seconds – you can choose tables to seat from two to 16. Plus there's a vast array of dining chair and bench styles, from simple, Shaker-style wood designs to grand upholstered, button-backed seating, contemporary leather benches and chairs with spill-resistant, family-friendly Aquaclean upholstery.
Almost all of our fixed and extending dining tables are crafted from solid oak, each piece sustainably harvested, made by craftsmen whose values of quality and tradition chime with ours. Quality-checked, we deliver each of our dining tables ourselves, in liveried vans, on time on the day you ask us to – so you can be sure yours will arrive in perfect condition.
Others are made from space-age HPL, a state of the art method of bonding thousands of layers of laminate at extremely high-pressure to produce a hard-wearing material with a stunning metallic sheen. Our Twinny dining tables are a great example of this.
Whichever dining table you choose, you can be sure it'll always be the place to gather your favourite people to dine for generations to come. A lifetime of family times, if you will.
"A dining table will always be one of the most important pieces of furniture in your home," says Jo Blackwell, part of the experienced interior design team at Holloways. "Dining habits might have changed, but being together around the table sets the tone for family life. It's where daily news is shared, where the biggest celebrations happen and it's a much-needed screen-free zone.
"Life's hectic, but making time to sit around the table with those we love the most, glass of wine in hand, plates filled with delicious food, keeps us quietly grounded in the chaos of day-to-day modern living."
Holloways photoshoots are always fabulously creative affairs involving our most experienced interior designers, photographers and videographers, delivery teams, marketing department and interns.
Whether it's a garden furniture shoot – where we all wait with bated breath for the great British weather to afford us a gloriously sunny day – or we're photographing our new collection of living and dining furniture on the bare earth floor of a centuries-old Tithe barn, every shoot takes weeks of planning and a huge amount of organisation.
Not least with the venue. We're lucky enough to shoot in some of the county's most impressive homes and gardens, and for our dining showreel we chose Crumplebury – a stunning events and wedding venue on the Whitbourne Estate, a stone's throw from our showrooms.
The team took over the whole building, shooting six different tables with various combinations of chairs and benches. Busy hanging and re-hanging artwork, dressing tables, extending tables, moving props and organising models – and baking one incredibly impressive birthday cake – they made sure a very long day ran smoothly as they captured the essence of family life around a Holloways dining table.
Huge thanks to fabulous models Annie Blackledge, Holloways Interior Designer and her husband James, who manages the Holloways and Holloways Garden Antiques websites; Pip, Arthur and Zara Orgee – relatives of the Holloways owners – and Dale Bradley, husband of the Holloways Marketing Manager, whose birthday it was on the day of the shoot.
